PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), welcomed the move by Qais al-Khazali, Secretary-General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, to sever ties with the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF), describing it as responsible, courageous, and patriotic positions help strengthen national unity, build confidence among Iraqis, and advance the shared aspirations for a more stable, secure, and prosperous future for the country.
President Bafel said in a statement:
"I highly appreciate and welcome the position expressed by my brother Sheikh Qais Al-Khazali in support of strengthening the Iraqi state and its institutions. At this important stage, such responsible, courageous, and patriotic positions help strengthen national unity, build confidence among Iraqis, and advance our shared aspirations for a more stable, secure, and prosperous future for our country."
