Nugra Salman: The Fortress of Death and Ethnic Cleansing book.

The English edition of Nugra Salman: The Fortress of Death and Ethnic Cleansing, written by doctoral student Arian Yousif, has been published and returned from print.

The book, translated from Kurdish into English and published with the support of Diyar Bajalan, documents the experiences of prisoners held inside the notorious Nugra Salman prison.

Nugra Salman Prison is a remote desert fortress located in southern Iraq’s Muthanna province. During Saddam Hussein’s 1988 Anfal campaign, the Ba’athist regime used the prison as a detention and execution centre, where thousands of Kurdish civilians were subjected to starvation, torture, and enforced disappearance.
