Iran's top ‌negotiator in talks with the ⁠United States, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, has been reelected as ‌the ⁠country's parliamentary speaker, semi-official Fars ⁠news agency reported.

According to Fars News Agency, every year on the anniversary of the establishment of the Iranian Parliament, elections are held for the parliamentary presidency and for the leadership of its specialised committees.

The parliamentary presidency is composed of 11 members: a speaker, two deputies, three observers, and six secretaries.

The parliament also includes 13 specialised committees, each consisting of six members, including a chairperson, two deputy chairpersons, a spokesperson, and two secretaries.

Members of the parliamentary presidency are elected by direct vote of all members of parliament, while the chairs of the specialised committees are elected annually by the members of each respective committee.
