Rifaat Abdullah, Vice President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of International Labour Day, pledging that the PUK will continue to stand with workers, defend their rights, and work towards strengthening modern labour legislation and social protection systems.
The President Vice President's message for International Labour Day read:
On International Labour Day, we extend our congratulations to all workers in Kurdistan in particular, and to workers around the world in general. We highly value their resilience, dedication, and active contribution to the reconstruction and development of Kurdistan.
The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) will continue to stand with workers, defend their rights, and work towards strengthening modern labour legislation and social protection systems. We remain committed to ensuring the full realisation of their professional and syndicate rights, as well as securing a dignified standard of living and improved welfare for all workers.
On this Labour Day, we also pay tribute to the souls of workers who lost their lives while carrying out their duties in the service of reconstruction and national development, and who became martyrs in the process of rebuilding the country.
Rafaat Abdullah
