Iraqi President Receives Congratulatory Message from Turkish Counterpart

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi, received the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anıl Bora İnan.

Iraqi President Nizar Amedi, received the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anıl Bora İnan, the Iraqi Presidency reported on Monday, 20 April 2026.

During the meeting, Ambassador Inan conveyed a congratulatory message from the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to President Amedi on the occasion of his assuming office. The message underscored Türkiye’s commitment to the security, stability, and prosperity of Iraq.

President Amedi emphasised the importance of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Türkiye and expanding avenues of cooperation to serve the mutual interests of both nations and bolster regional stability.

Furthermore, the President highlighted the necessity of coordination and joint action to identify sustainable solutions to the water issue.

For his part, Ambassador Inan expressed his country’s eagerness to reinforce relations of cooperation and friendship in a manner that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples.
