Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, extended his congratulations to Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona on the occasion of his election as Patriarch of the Chaldean Church in Iraq and the world.

Deputy PM Talabani's message to Patriarch Mar Paul III Nona read:

"Most Reverend, His Holiness Mar Paulus III Nona,

On the occasion of your election as the new Patriarch of the Chaldean Church, we extend our warmest congratulations to Your Holiness and to all our Christian brothers and sisters. We wish you great success in this high and sacred mission.

On this occasion, we reaffirm that, in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, we will spare no effort to deepen the spirit of coexistence and harmony among all communities.

To this end, we stand ready to provide all forms of cooperation and support to ensure the success of the message of peace and brotherhood."
