Derbaz Kosrat Rasul Meets Bulgarian Diplomat to Discuss Regional Developments

Derbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Valentin Nikolov, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Bulgaria in Iraq, for discussions on recent regional developments and ongoing challenges.

During the meeting, Rasul emphasised that the latest tensions in the region have once again demonstrated that diplomacy and dialogue remain the only viable means of preserving peace and stability.

The two sides also exchanged views on the formation of new governments in both Baghdad and Erbil. They agreed that the next phase requires a renewed vision and more effective governance to confront emerging challenges.

For his part, Nikolov reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to strengthening its relations with the Kurdistan Region. He highlighted his country’s interest in expanding cooperation, particularly in the fields of economy and trade.
