Qubad Talabani, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, reaffirmed that the Kurdistan Region will not be part of regional conflicts, but rather will be part of the solution, during a meeting of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) team within the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
In a post on his Facebook page, he said: “In the meeting of the PUK team within the KRG, we discussed in detail the complex situation in the region and its impact on Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. We emphasised our consistent position that, as Kurds, we will not be part of the problems and complications, but will be part of the solution and help ensure security and stability in our region.”
He added: “We also discussed the relationship between the KRG and the Iraqi federal government. Within the framework of the PUK’s vision for relations between the two governments, we will make every effort to improve relations and resolve outstanding issues between us.”
