Several drone incidents were reported in the Kurdistan Region overnight, including in Sulaymaniyah, Erbil and Koya. While no casualties were reported in Sulaymaniyah or Koya, 13 people were injured in a drone attack in Erbil, according to local sources.

Karzan Sherko, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Region Security Agency (Asayish), said two explosions were heard in Sulaymaniyah late last night. He explained that the sounds were caused by the interception and destruction of two drones.

According to the spokesperson, the drones were shot down near the 70 Forces Command, and the explosions were the result of falling drone fragments. No casualties were reported.

Meanwhile, a source in Erbil said that 13 people were injured in a drone strike in the city. The injured were transferred to the Western Emergency Hospital for treatment.

In Koya, police director Ali Abdullah said three explosions were heard at around 11:30 p.m. However, no blasts struck the city centre and no debris fell within the urban area.

The incidents come as the U.S.–Israeli war with Iran enters its third week. The Kurdistan Region and Iraq have not been spared from the tensions, with occasional drone attacks reported in several cities, particularly Sulaymaniyah and Erbil, sometimes resulting in casualties and damage.
