Saadi Ahmed Pire, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), affirmed that Germany has consistently supported the Kurdish people.

At the start of the discussions, Pira highlighted the long-standing relationship between the Kurdish people and Germany, noting that the German government and people have provided steadfast support at various stages.
He particularly emphasised Germany’s significant role in recent years in combating terrorism, providing military and humanitarian assistance, and deploying special forces to train Peshmerga troops—a contribution that, he said, “is worthy of the Kurdish people’s gratitude and appreciation.”
