PUK’s Darbaz Kosrat Meets French CG to Discuss Regional Developments

Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Political Bureau and Head of the Relations Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received the French Consul General to the Kurdistan Region, Yann Braem, at the Political Bureau headquarters in Erbil on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the overall situation in the region and recent political developments, with particular emphasis on the formation of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government. Both sides underlined the importance of unity among political forces and parties in the Kurdistan Region.
During the meeting, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul said that significant responsibilities and opportunities lie ahead, stressing the need for unity at home and abroad in order to secure the legitimate rights of the people.
He also outlined his views on the situation in Iraq, highlighting the importance of adhering to constitutional and legal frameworks to overcome challenges, improve citizens’ living conditions, and ensure sound and effective governance.
The talks further addressed the situation in Syria and wider regional developments, with both sides stressing the need to protect the Kurdish population in Syria and calling on the international community to closely monitor developments there.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of maintaining constructive relations with international partners in order to safeguard stability and promote development for the benefit of all citizens in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
