A high-level delegation from the Swedish Social Democratic Party (SDP) visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal on Monday, 10 November 2025, and were warmly received by members of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal.
During the visit, Torgny Larsson and the delegation laid a wreath at the grave of President Mam Jalal and paid tribute to his enduring role in promoting peace in the Middle East.
Writing in the memory book at the mausoleum, Larsson highlighted Mam Jalal’s contributions as an active and influential figure, culminating in his position as Vice President of the Socialist International.
Larsson remarked in his note: “It is a pleasure that President Bafel Jalal Talabani has continued this legacy and, as President of the organisation, will carry forward President Mam Jalal’s struggle as a young and experienced leader of the region.”
In response, the Secretariat of President Mam Jalal expressed their gratitude to Larsson and his delegation, noting: “We always honour those who have contributed to the development of the peace process and supported President Mam Jalal throughout all stages of his struggle, both domestically and internationally.”
