Qubad Talabani Stresses Protecting Kurdish Rights Through the Constitution

Qubad Talabani, Head of the Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal and a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met in Erbil with comrades from the legal sector and PUK rights activists. He stressed that the PUK’s policy is clear and consistent — the protection of the Kurdistan Region and the rights of its people can only be ensured through the implementation of the Constitution.

During the meeting, Qubad Talabani stated: “The PUK’s policy and programme are very clear and transparent. We will not compromise any of the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people, nor will we demand anything excessive or unconstitutional.”

He added: “As President Bafel has said, we will fight to implement the Constitution clause by clause and point by point.”

Qubad Talabani reaffirmed that the PUK has always believed that safeguarding the Kurdistan Region and protecting the rights of its people can only be achieved through the full implementation of the Constitution — not through slogans or the escalation of conflict.
