Kurdistan VP Congratulates New Dutch Commander, Reaffirms Kurdistan Region's Support

Kurdistan VP Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa's meeting with Dutch Force Commander Colonel Arian Bouma.

Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Head of the Protection Council of the Higher Interests of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received Colonel Arian Bouma, the newly appointed commander of the Dutch forces within the Global Coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS), on Monday, 29 September 2025.

Vice President Sheikh Mustafa congratulated Colonel Bouma on assuming his new post, wishing him success in his mission. He reaffirmed the Kurdistan Region’s readiness to provide full support and cooperation to ensure the success of his duties in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

Colonel Bouma expressed his pleasure at taking on his new responsibilities, underlining the importance of continuing relations and expanding joint cooperation between the Netherlands, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region.
