Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), presided over a formal ceremony on the occasion of the appointment of Comrade Sarkawt Zaki as the new supervisor of the party’s headquarters in Sulaymaniyah and Chamchamal.
Opening the ceremony, President Bafel expressed his appreciation for the contributions of Comrade Ziad Jabar, stating: “Throughout his tenure, he has fulfilled his duties with dedication and in true PUK spirit. He has earned the trust of us all. We remain committed to supporting him in his future roles and responsibilities, as always.”
President Talabani extended his congratulations to Comrade Sarkawt Zaki, wishing him success in his new position. Emphasising the strategic significance of Sulaymaniyah and Chamchamal for the PUK, he remarked: “Sulaymaniyah holds a strategic status for us. It is both the organisational backbone of our movement and the driving force behind the enduring political struggle of our people. We are firmly committed to serving the city and working in partnership with its resilient population to secure a brighter future.”
He also acknowledged the contributions of the people of Chamchamal to the PUK’s cause, adding:
“You represent the heart of Kurdish patriotism. Your region deserves greater development and prosperity. You can be assured that we will redouble our efforts to serve you better than ever before.”
