7th Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair.
The 7th Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair, set to launch on 3 October 2025—coinciding with the anniversary of President Mam Jalal’s passing—will be officially named the "President Mam Jalal Edition" in his honour.
Hama Hama Saeed, Minister of Culture and Youth in the Kurdistan Region, met with representatives from Atlas Publishing House, alongside several other publishing houses and organisers of the book fair. During the meeting, the roadmap for the fair's preparations was finalised, and the decision was taken to name the upcoming edition after the late President Mam Jalal.
It was also agreed to establish a joint cooperation and coordination board to oversee the organisation and supervision of the exhibition.
To date, six international book fairs have been held in Sulaymaniyah. The most recent, the 6th Sulaymaniyah International Book Fair, showcased 40,000 titles and nine million books, presented by 200 local and international publishing centres. Approximately four million books were sold, and the event attracted nearly half a million visitors.
