PUK President Bafel Jalal Talabani's meeting with the members of the European Parliament.
Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received a delegation from the European Parliament, including Martin Schirdewan, Co-Chair of The Left in the European Parliament, and Fayik Yagizay, Member of the European Parliament representing the People's Democratic Party (DEM Party).
The meeting, which took place amid ongoing regional developments, focused on the political landscape in Kurdistan and the broader region. Both sides emphasised the importance of dialogue, coordination, and cooperation among all parties as essential to resolving current challenges.
Discussions also addressed the peace process in North Kurdistan and Türkiye. President Bafel reaffirmed the PUK’s longstanding support for dialogue as the most effective path to peace and conflict resolution.
"From the outset, we have supported dialogue as the preferred approach to achieve peace and resolve disputes. We have actively cooperated to ensure this opportunity succeeds, and we remain committed to continuing this coordination," President Bafel stated.
