On International Women's Day, Iraqi First Lady Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed paid tribute to Iraqi women who have fought for rights and freedoms, shaping the country’s history with determination.

"For over a century, Iraqi women have fought for rights and freedoms, shaping the country’s history with determination," First Lady Ahmed said in a statement on Saturday, 8 March 2025.

"Today, we honour their legacy by pushing forward, refusing to slow down and ensuring a future where every woman has the opportunities she deserves," she added.
