Tommaso Sansone, the Italian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal in Sulaymaniyah on Saturday, 22 February 2025, where he paid tribute to the late president and described him as a great leader of the Kurdish people.
The Italian Consul General was welcomed by the PUK's Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal.
After laying the wreath of flowers on the grave of late President Mam Jalal, the Italian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region spoke about the position of President Mam Jalal as a prominent leader of the Kurdish people, Iraq and the region, pointing out that he played a great role in building a new Iraq.
He said: "I thought it necessary to visit the grave of President Mam Jalal as the first place in Sulaymaniyah to pay tribute to the great leader of the Kurdish people."
The Secretariat Bureau of President Mam Jalal expressed their gratitude and support for the new Italian Consul General in the Kurdistan Region and wished him success in his new mission.
