The meeting of Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Political Bureau of the PUK, & Andrew Bizley, the UK Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, a member of the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and head of its Relations Bureau, received Andrew Bizley, the UK Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil.
The two parties discussed strategies to surmount challenges facing the political proceedings in the Kurdistan Region, with the British CG emphasising the importance of regional stability and the position of both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Rasul articulated the PUK's concern for the regional circumstances and the establishment of the new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
He asserted: "The PUK is eager to establish a new KRG cabinet, a cabinet that embodies the desires of the people, alongside the establishment of services and justice.
The two parties also deliberated on public engagement in the voting process for the sixth term of the Kurdistan Parliament and the elections' success. They highlighted that political parties must honour their electoral promises to the people.
