The Iraqi government's official Sabah newspaper agrees with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) on the significance of not excluding any community or political party after the governor's election and the establishment of Kirkuk's local government.

The editor-in-chief of the al-Sabah newspaper wrote in his editorial for today's issue, Monday, August 12, 2024, under the title (Kirkuk, a Smaller Version of Iraq), "The absence of those who are not present will surely have an impact on the significance of what has been accomplished. However, the guarantees given during the session, particularly the PUK's vow not to exclude anyone, may help to reduce the degree of stress."

Ahmed Abdul Hussein, the newspaper's editor-in-chief, also wrote: "Bafel Talabani, President of the PUK, stated that they will maintain the same policies as the late Iraqi President Jalal Talabani in addressing the situation in the province."
