Elections Bureau: Nineveh is Important to PUK

Meeting of the Head of the Election Bureau, Deputy of the Nineveh Provincial Council and members of the Nineveh Future Alliance.
On July 28, 2024, Rizgar Haji Hama, the Elections Bureau Chief of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), met with Mohammed Abdullah al-Jabouri, the Deputy Head of the Nineveh Provincial Council, and representatives from the Future Nineveh Alliance.
During the friendly gathering attended by Aras Mohammed Agha, the head of the PUK's Nineveh headquarters, the participants engaged in a discussion regarding the current political landscape. The meeting underscored the significance of unity and cooperation among the parties.
The Deputy Head of the Nineveh Provincial Council expressed gratitude to the PUK for its crucial contribution in the defeat of the Islamic State (ISIS) militants and providing refuge for the internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Nineveh in Sulaymaniyah. The Deputy Head emphasised that the PUK's involvement in combating ISIS terrorists cannot be denied.
"I express my gratitude to the PUK and Sulaymaniyah for their support extended to the IDPs who were accommodated in Sulaymaniyah in recent years. I also extend my thanks on behalf of the entire population of Nineveh for their aid," he said.
In addition, he commended the PUK's contribution and President Mam Jalal's efforts in strengthening democracy. Furthermore, he stated their alliance's willingness to engage in all forms of coordination and collaborative endeavours with the PUK.
The Head of the PUK's Elections Bureau not only greeted the group but also conveyed the PUK's readiness to engage in any form of collaboration and coordination that benefits the residents of Nineveh, encompassing all communities.
He stated that Nineveh is a significant province that has consistently attracted the attention of the PUK. Furthermore, he mentioned that they have a comprehensive plan for the future of Nineveh.
The Future Nineveh Alliance, including 16 members, is the dominant faction on the provincial council and represents all communities in the province. Today's visit was attended by 10 members.
