DPM Talabani Welcomes Newly Appointed Greek CG to Kurdistan Region

Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani met with the newly appointed Greek Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, Nikolaos Stergioula, to discuss strategies for enhancing bilateral relations between both countries.
Talabani congratulated Stergioula on his recent appointment as Greece's Consul General during the meeting on Wednesday. Talabani wished Stergioula well in strengthening and revitalising ties between Greece and the Kurdistan Region.
Both sides agreed that there is a solid foundation for strengthening ties in the tourism and agriculture sectors. The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Greece's success in both agriculture and tourism and said that the Kurdistan Region welcomes investors from Greece and encourages them to invest in these sectors and share their successful experiences with the Region.
During another part of the meeting, he emphasised the importance of strengthening ties between Kurdistan's universities and Greece, and he requested the Greek Consul General's assistance in this regard. He also requested that the Greek government facilitate the application process for Kurdish students at Greek universities.
