The PUK is in favor of conducting the Kurdistan parliamentary elections as scheduled, according to the supervisor of the Sulaymaniyah Headquarters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), who also emphasized that all communities should have their rightful representatives in parliament.

"The PUK supports the timely conduct of the parliamentary elections, scheduled for February 25, 2024," said Ziad Jabar, supervisor of the PUK's Sulaymaniyah Headquarters.

"The PUK distinguishes itself from other political forces in Kurdistan, particularly the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), by consistently advocating for the inclusion of genuine representatives from all communities in the Kurdistan Parliament. We also aim for the Christians of Sulaymaniyah to have their true representatives in the Kurdistan Parliament," he stated.

About the lawsuit filed against the fifth term of parliament on five articles of the electoral law that they had submitted to the Federal Court, Jabar said: "We anticipate that the Federal Court's forthcoming decision, expected on December 27, will be favorable to all parties and align with the public's best interests because the PUK's demands are in the public's best interest and aim to benefit all the communities within the Kurdistan Region."
