A Senior delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) arrived in Pirmam on Tuesday to meet with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP). Deputy Presidents of the KDP Nechirvan Barzani and Masrour Barzani welcomed the PUK delegation.

The PUK delegation, led by Bafel Jalal Talabani, included Qubad Talabani, Khasraw Gul Mohammed, Darbaz Kosrat Rasul, Rafaat Abdullah, Shalaw Ali Askari, Emad Ahmed, and Saadi Ahmed Pira.

The KDP delegation included Nechirvan Barzani, Masrour Barzani, Fazil Mirani, Hoshyar Zebari, Mahmoud Mohammed, Azad Barwari, Jaafar Eminiki, Pshtiwan Sdiq, and Dilshad Shahab.

The following is PUK and KDP's joint statement:

The meeting deliberated on the circumstances prevailing in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, with a specific focus on the sensitive conditions in the surrounding area in general.

Both parties emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation, as well as the necessity of harnessing the power and capabilities of all political forces and parties to safeguard the entity of the Kurdistan Region. Additionally, they highlighted the need to develop a collective strategy that aligns with the evolving circumstances and effectively addresses the various challenges at hand.

Both parties reached a consensus to strengthen shared objectives and address issues in alignment with the national interests of Kurdistan.

The approval of the measures taken by the government to ensure the provision of financial entitlements and salaries for the Kurdistan Region per the permanent Constitution of Iraq was another topic of discussion at the meeting.

Eventually, an agreement was reached to proceed with the continuation of the meetings, and an appropriate method was determined for facilitating this objective. It is noteworthy to highlight that the meeting transpired in a serene and optimistic atmosphere.
