German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock hoped in a letter to Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani that relations between Baghdad and Erbil would be rebuilt on a solid foundation so that the region's abundant resources could be utilized to the greatest benefit of its people.
The German Foreign Minister expressed her gratitude to Qubad Talabani for the warm welcome she received during her visit to the Kurdistan Region in her letter, emphasizing that Germany would "continue to support the Kurdistan Region in maintaining stability and providing welfare for Kurdish citizens."
Baerbock said that Kurdistan has an educated and young population, and mentioned that Qubad Talabani declared his intention during their meeting to use this as an opportunity to reroute the Kurdistan Region in order to provide its residents with a better future.
In this context, the German Foreign Minister reaffirmed her support for Qubad Talabani's point of view and urged the Kurdistan Region to take climate change seriously because it poses a serious threat to the future of both Kurdistan and Iraq.
