In a message to the families of the victims of the attack on the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center in Paris, Bafel Jalal Talabani, the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), said: "Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and we share your grief."

On December 23, President Bafel Talabani issued the following statement:

"The Paris incident and the attack on the Kurdish diaspora saddened us. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and we share your grief. With much respect for the response of the French President and the official institutions, I hope that justice will be served as soon as possible.”

Emmanuel Macron, President of France, also spoke about the attack on a Kurdish cultural center in Paris.

"The Kurds of France have been the target of a heinous attack in the heart of Paris," the French President tweeted.

"Thoughts to the victims, to the people who are struggling to live, to their families and loved ones. Recognition to our law enforcement for their courage and composure," he added.

Abdullatif Rashid, President of Iraq, also condemned the attack on the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center in the French capital, Paris.

The Iraqi President said in a tweet on Saturday, December 24th: "We deplore and condemn in the strongest terms the criminal attack that targeted a Kurdish Cultural Center in Paris, which left a number of innocent victims." "We call on the French government to expedite the arrest of the perpetrators and bring them to justice," stressing "the importance of combating racism in France in order to prevent the recurrence of such unfortunate incidents."

Three individuals were killed and three others were injured after a gunman opened fire multiple times in Paris' Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Center on Friday, December 23. A suspect has been taken into custody, and an investigation has already begun.

The suspect has been released from prison 11 days ago. He was arrested for stabbing a refugee camp in Paris last year. he fled the scene after attacking the cultural center but was caught by several Kurds who own a nearby barbershop.
