PUK rejects dual administration disguised as one government

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) has called for the implementation of the agreement signed between the Gorran Movement, the PUK, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) before forming the current cabinet in 2018.

The PUK wants services, not positions
Jutiar Nuri, a member of the PUK Political Bureau, stated in an interview broadcast on the Gali Kurdistan (GK) TV channel, "Our problem with the government is the implementation of its programme on which the government was created, not acquiring more ranks and posts."

Compared to Iraq, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is significantly less transparent than the Iraqi government, according to Nuri. "This cabinet is not financially transparent and has not been able to present the budget to parliament when repeatedly requested."
Previous Cabinets were better
In addition, Nuri stated: "If we compare this cabinet to the previous cabinets, we see that the governance performance of this cabinet is much worse: revenue is not transparent, powers are monopolised, discrimination is made between cities, the electoral law and voter registration have not been amended, there are many unofficial border crossings whose revenue does not return to the public treasury, and there are many other things that the government should have done but has neglected."
The PUK has two globalised visions
For the benefit of the people of the Kurdistan Region, the PUK has two distinct views on the state of affairs in its region.

"PUK's clear and official viewpoints are not individualistic," said Latif Nerway, a member of the PUK Leadership Council, "whether as a political message or as the last official position in the KRG; they are the PUK's universal objectives for governance in the Region."
PUK favours a balanced government
He added: "The PUK wishes to establish a government that observes justice in the allocation of funds and the fulfillment of projects in all cities and towns of Kurdistan."

The PUK party in the government has made it clear that they are not fighting for positions,

but rather for the region known as Garmian, Raparin, Halabja, and Sulaymaniyah (regions controlled by the PUK).
Several posts belong to the PUK but are vacant
He continued, "A number of roles that belong to the PUK in the government have gone unfilled, and the PUK doesn't seem to care." However, it is crucial that we figure out how to deal with the issue of unfinished strategic initiatives that have been put on hold for many years owing to injustice.
The KDP cannot govern without the PUK
The PUK resists the KDP's desire to make decisions unilaterally, hold on to power, and discriminate between cities and towns.

Shadi Nawzad, a member of the Kurdistan Parliament, told PUKMEDIA, "It is obvious that the KDP cannot control the Kurdistan Region without the PUK because the PUK is the pioneer of new ideas in the government."

She also added: "The PUK is the visionary force in the government, so people understand that the PUK is the owner, not the visitor, within the government." The PUK formed organisations, syndicates, reform ideas, and many other concepts, which now the government is taking credit for.

The parties support the PUK to correct the bad governance and want the KRG to right its wrongs because this blatant and intentional discriminatory behaviour is wrong governance, and it is the responsibility of the political forces to correct the wrong so that the government serves everyone without discrimination. In the Kurdistan Region, they have formed a facade against individuality in governance and inequality in revenue distribution.
