President Bafel: We cannot accept the government's ill policy

The President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, reiterates his refusal to back the harmful course of action taken by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).

At his residence in Dabashan, Suleimani, President Bafel met with Futoshi Matsumoto, the Japanese ambassador to Iraq, on December 7th.

President Bafel referred to the PUK's position while discussing the life of the citizens and the absence of effective governance in the Kurdistan Region, saying, "We are unable to accept the government's ill policies. A government that discriminates between cities has monopolized all corners and endangers the lives of our citizens. As a result, we will reject it and make the required decisions along with other political parties in the Region."

The discussion also covered political developments, focusing on how best to expand ties between Japan and the Kurdistan Region while upholding both nations' highest interests.

Additionally, President Bafel emphasized the procedures to carry out the new agenda of the Iraqi government and stressed that cooperation between the parties was crucial to the achievement of the reform program and the stability of the nation.
