Slemani confirms higher rates of Coronavirus cases

Slemani Governorate's General Directorate of Health announced an increase in Covid-19 cases, calling on citizens to adhere to preventive measures.

Saman Sheikh Latif, a spokesman for the directorate, told PUKmedia that the Coronavirus cases are constantly increasing in Slemani.

He revealed that according to the laboratory tests, the rates of infection were 4% or 5% in the past period, but during the past three weeks, the rates increased to 50%.

Latif explained that a part of the citizens adheres to preventive measures, but it is not enough, noting that the vaccination rates are not at the required level.

He called on all citizens to adhere to preventive measures and receive vaccines, revealing that Slemani governorate has received 700,000 vaccine doses against the Coronavirus.

It's been several weeks since the Coronavirus cases increased throughout Iraq.

According to Monday's announcement, The Iraqi Ministry of Health confirmed 4,455 new coronavirus cases, raising the total number to 2,409,641 in the country. read more
