Kurdistan Parliament votes on amending oil and gas law

On Wednesday, the Kurdistan Regional Parliament voted to amend the oil and gas law and the first amendment bill to protect and reform the environment in the Kurdistan Region.
79 MPs out of 111 voted to amend the law.
MP Abdul Nassir Ahmed told PUKmedia, "The Parliament of Kurdistan voted today to amend the Oil and Gas Law and the First Amendment Bill to protect and reform the environment in Kurdistan."
On February 15, 2022, the Federal Court deemed that the oil and gas law of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) was unconstitutional.
Moreover, the Court demanded that KRG must hand over all crude oil under its authority to the federal government.
