Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed to Iraqi women's futsal team: Your victory is a pride

Mrs. Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, Administrator at the Political Bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), congratulated the Iraqi women's futsal team on winning the West Asian Cup.

“I extend warmest congratulations to the coach and players, especially the Kurdish women of the national team," Mrs. Shanaz said in her congratulatory message. 

"This victory is another pride and historic achievement in sports on the level of Asia and a joy for everyone... I hope you continue to shine in this important field," she added.

On Friday, the Iraqi women's futsal team won the  WAFF Futsal Championship after beating Saudi Arabia, with a 4-2 score.

Saudi women advanced with an early goal during the first half of a great competitive match held in Jeddah.

The Iraqi women's futsal team, with the distinguished 9 Kurdish players, managed to fight back and score 4 goals bringing victory to the Iraqi women's futsal team under the leadership of Iranian coach Shahnaz Yari.

A total of six teams participated in the WAFF's Women's Futsal Championship for 2022, which was held from June 16 to June 24 in Saudi Arabia. 

The WAFF Futsal Championship is an international futsal competition organized by the West Asian Football Federation.
