Four hospitals dedicated to Cholera patients in Slemani

On Monday, the Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Region announced the dedication of 4 hospitals to receive diarrhea and vomiting cases in Slemani Governorate.

During a press conference, Dr. Saman Barzanji said that high temperatures and drought are among the causes of the cholera outbreak, explaining that health measures were taken to confront diarrhea and vomiting cases, and 4 hospitals were dedicated to it in Slemani.

He stated, "The hospitals will continue to provide the necessary treatment to patients," noting that the ministry has a plan to combat cholera in the Kurdistan Region and monitors health conditions closely by providing all medical supplies.

Barzanji revealed that the Kurdistan Regional Government allocated 800 million dinars to confront cholera, stressing that cases of diarrhea and vomiting pose a threat to those with chronic diseases.

For his part, Dr. Sabah Hawrami, Director-General of Slemani Health, said that the Minister of Health held an expanded meeting today on ways to combat cholera and the Ministry of Health pledged to provide all medical requirements in Slemani.
