President Bafel: Aziz Gardi is an important lesson for all those who wish to keep their names shining in history

Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, sent a cable of condolences on the death of the great Kurdish writer, academic, and translator Aziz Gardi, who passed away this morning at the age of 74.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani's condolences text:

The death of Dr. Aziz Gardi, the well-known Kurdish writer, academic, and translator, is a great loss that saddens us deeply.

The life and experience of Aziz Gardi is an important and influential lesson for all those who serve and wish to keep their names shining in history. 

He was one of the few writers who did not wait for any recognition or praise and carried the concerns of the language and culture of his nationality sincerely.

Turning to the Kurdish Library, we realize the fact that no one carried a rich and shining pen like Aziz Gardi. Sadly, Kurdistan today bids farewell to him, and history remains to remember him.
