Kurdish athlete wins bronze medal at World Muay Thai Championship in UAE

A Kurdish Muay Thai player from Garmian won the Bronze medal at the World Muay Thai Championship in the UAE.

Ayub Hussein took part in the tournament as the only Kurd on the Iraqi team.

Hussein lost to a French wrestler in the 57kg weight category at the semifinals of the tournament which took place in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

Despite his defeat, Ayub won two previous matches against a Libyan player and the withdrawal of a Polish opponent, securing him the third place and a bronze medal.
