Slemani hosts an International Kyokushin Championship

An International Kyokushin Championship is scheduled to begin in Slemani next Thursday.
The tournament will take place at the sports center hall of the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences of the University of Sulaimani.
Taimur Tahsin, head of the Iraqi Kyokushin Federation, told PUKmedia that the international championship will start at 10 am (local time) on Thursday with the participation of Azerbaijan, Greece, Turkey, Iraq, Georgia, Sri Lanka, and Iran.
He added that the tournament is the first of its kind in Iraq, pointing out that Kyokushin is one of the modern martial games.
Kyokushin is a full-contact martial art, school of karate originating from Japan. It is a style of stand-up fighting and is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline, and hard training.
