Kurdish films participate in the ASSK International Film Festival in Canada

The 2nd ASSK International Film Festival is scheduled to be held in the Canadian city of Montreal.

ASSK Film Festival (AFF) is a part of The Kurdish Institute Of Copenhagen(KIC). The first festival was launched in 2021 which helped and supported Kurdish filmmakers to showcase their products in the international arena.

The festival officials said in a statement that all Kurdish films that have been made since 2019 and have not participated in the previous year of the festival, can submit on the Filmfreeway platform.

This year's festival focuses on war. It includes an international section entitled "No to War" which is related to films on topics related to the damages done by wars are highlighted.

At the conclusion of the festival on May 25, 2022, prizes will be distributed to the winning films in the second edition of the Eske Festival.

ASSK Film Festival (AFF) believes that Kurdish cinema and filmmakers are an essential and prominent part of the Kurdish culture. Films and cinema help the Kurdish and foreign people to get more in touch with Kurdish culture and open new windows to understanding this beautiful unknown society. Cinema will help to transfer the culture. ASSK Film Festival (AFF) provides a platform for Kurdish and non-Kurdish filmmakers to show their films worldwide.
