The Organization of Women's Freedom Organization in Kurdistan organized an art exhibition at the Twar Art Hall in Slemani as part of activities and campaigns prepared for International Women's Day.

The exhibition includes paintings demonstrating women and will last for one day.

Zino Rashid, a member of the Women's Freedom Organization, told PUKmedia that 14 female artists opened the exhibition on the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on the 8th of March every year.

Twenty-two paintings are exhibited which all of them express women's life, problems, and suffering in society, according to Rashid.

"It is a message through art and colors to the concerned authorities to pay more attention to women’s rights because they are half of society and to take into account their rights as a mother, wife, and sister, adopting laws and implementing them on the ground, and holding those who abuse them accountable by law,” Rashid said.

For her part, Sewan Rostam, a member of the Kurdistan Women Union, told PUKmedia: "Today, as we approach International Women's Day, an art exhibition was opened to show women in their community life. To show how they are mothers, lovers, wives, and sisters through drawings and colors that express the aesthetic and importance of women in society."
