Qubad Talabani, KRG's Deputy Prime Minister, showed his condolences on the death of the woman whose husband burned her in the city of Slemani.

Qubad Talabani said on his Facebook page, "I was very saddened by the death of Shinyar, that innocent citizen whose crime was being a woman."

"While I commend the efforts of the police and Asayish forces that arrested the accused who carried out the crime, it hurts a lot because in 2022 we still live in a society where there are men who think that torture, threats, and killing women are normal," he added.

He explained, "What hurts me the most is the silence of society, our task is not only to arrest and punish the killers of women, but as a society, sheikhs, and youth, the government and civil society, courts and mosques, we have to say with one voice, “Enough” and we will not accept this anymore."

"It is time to end the phenomenon of killing women because there is no honor in killing women," Talabani affirmed.
