PUK organizes symposium about journalism obstacles

On Thursday, the Legal Affairs Center of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) organized a symposium about the obstacles in journalism.
The symposium started with a speech by the Deputy Prime Minister's spokesman, Samir Hawrami, in which he spoke about the obstacles between the government and the media and the causes and solutions.
On his part, Stran Abdullah, the supervisor of PUK's Media Office, spoke about the relation between political freedom and media freedom.
In another aspect of the symposium, Rahman Ghareeb, coordinator of the Metro Center for journalist rights and advocacy, spoke about the freedom of the press as a condition for democracy, then opened a discussion among the guests.
