Captain of Iraqi Handball team retires

After a decade of playing for the Iraqi handball team and participating in several international and regional championships, Muhammad Abdul Sahib, captain of the team, announced his resignation from playing for the national team.

"My decision to retire is once and for all and hope from the bottom of my heart to fill my place with a young player, and where I play, there are tens of capable players," Abdul Sahib told PUKmedia.

Abdul Sahib was born in the disputed Khurmatu district, about 89 km south of Kirkuk. He participated in the Asian game And Asian Olympic games and Islamic countries and the World Cup qualifiers with the Iraqi national team and became the captain of the team.

He played for Saladin, Peshmarga, Tuz, Nawroz, South Oil, Jaish, and Shura clubs.
