Prominent Kurdish scientist dies at 89

On Tuesday, one of the prominent figures of the Kurdish community in Kazakhstan, a famous engineer and scientist and the head of the Burbank Organization, Nadir Nadirov, died at the age of 89 after a life full of achievements and discoveries.

Nadirov is famous in the world for his discoveries in the field of petrochemicals.

Ramadhan Karim, Professor Nadirov's relative, told PUKmedia, "the Kurdish Professor Nadir Nadirov died on Tuesday at the age of 89 after suffering from illness."

France awarded Nadirov the title of Marshal of the Flag, and he also received many local and international awards.

Nadirov has three children.

For her part, the businesswoman, Narin Nadirov, said that Nadirov had invented the technology of separating oil from water molecules using electricity. He was awarded the "Marshal of Science" for his discovery in Kazakhstan.

Nadirov was born in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Administration of Azerbaijan as the son of a Kurdish family, and he was exiled to Kazakhstan at the age of fivel; there he began his education under difficult conditions.

In 1945, he was suspended for a year because he could not obtain permission to go to university in Kazakhstan. Then, he joined the Department of Chemistry and Biology at the Gogol State Pedagogical Institute and practiced teaching for a while after he graduated.

Nadirov joined the Lenin Institute in Moscow in 1956 and obtained a master's degree. Then, in 1967, he obtained PHD degree in chemical science, and he became a professor in 1970 and then an academic in 1983.

In addition to his duties as a member of the Council of the International Academy of Sciences, he became President of the Academy of Chemical Engineering of Kazakhstan, member of the Executive Council of the University of Engineering of Kazakhstan and the editor of the Journal of Gas and Oil.

He has 8 books, 750 scientific articles, 28 studies and 260 scientific discoveries in petroleum and chemistry.

Nadirov's book "Kazakhstan Oil and Natural Gas" was awarded the "Best Book of the Year" in 1996.
