Kurdish girls reach U15 Women's Skills Challenge finals

Kurdish girls basketball team for under 15 female athletes managed to reach the finals of U15's Women's Skills Challenge which is organized by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) in Baghdad.

 

The Kurdish team, who play for Iraq, managed to win in the qualifiers in second place with New Zealand in first place in its group paving their way to the world cup.

 

Iraq played two games in the groups' category against the Guam team and also New Zealand team

 

The field for the FIBA U15 Skills Challenges 2021 has been finalized as 106 teams from 55 National Federations have been entered in the Regional Qualifiers for a chance to compete at the Global Challenges.

 

Both the men's and women's events have seen an increase in the number of participants, with 55 nations represented in the men's competition and 51 in the women's event.

 

There are no direct entrants to the Global Skills Challenges this year and all 32 spots available at each event were secured through the Qualifiers with teams split into four geographic regions of Africa,  Americas, Asia, and Europe.
