Erbil records 9 new coronavirus cases

Amid the search for the infect individuals with the globally recognized COVID-19 virus, 9 people tested positive for the virus on Wednesday in Erbil province, according to a KRG health ministry statement.


5 of the infected individuals are members of the same family and they have returned from Turkey, the statement said, adding that the other 3 have had contact with the infected people. 


The remaining case was showing the symptoms of the disease, the statement read.


As of Wednesday night, the total number of coronavirus cases in the Kurdistan Region has reached 532. Of this number, 403 have recovered, 5 have died, 99 are under medical care.
