Aram Muhammed Qadir, Kurdistan Region's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said during a statement that "it was decided to end the 2019-2020 academic year in Kurdistan Region's universities and institutes and calculate the first semester's grades, as the final grade for students."
The Kurdistan Region closed the doors of all educational centers in all its stages on March 14th, with the aim of containing the novel coronavirus.
The Ministry of Education announced last Saturday that the first semester grades are calculated as a final grade for students from the fourth primary to the eleventh preparatory stage, while students who failed in the first semester are allowed to take exams in the subjects that they failed.
