Security forces thwart ISIS attack on Raqqa Governorate in Western Kurdistan

The security forces in Western Kurdistan, Syria managed to foil an ISIS attack on Raqqa Governorate's Al-Tabaqa city, according to a political activist.

 

"Last night the ISIS terrorist launched an attacked on a checkpoint in Al-Tabaqa city in Raqqa Governorate," Shimar Hemo, a political activist in Western Kurdistan told PUKmedia.

 

The security forces foiled the attack, 7 terrorist were killed and 5 were arrested according to early statics, Hemo said.

 

ISIS's plan was to attack a prison in the area that holds thousands of ISIS prisoners, He add.
