The Ministry of Health in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) announced the latest toll of coronavirus cases in the Kurdistan Region on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said that during the past 24 hours, 63 citizens have been quarantined in health quarantine centers, all of them have returned from abroad and have had contact with former patients.
The statement added that so far, the number of citizens who entered health quarantine centers has reached 11,111 citizens, 10,054 of whom left quarantine centers after the end of the 14-day isolation period. There are still 1057 quarantined citizens, 504 in Erbil, 160 in Sulaymaniyah, 392 in Duhok, and 1 in Raparin.
The statement clarified that during the past 24 hours, the necessary laboratory tests were conducted for 801 suspected cases of coronavirus, 349 in Erbil, 240 in Sulaymaniyah, 207 in Duhok, and 5 in Soran district, and the results showed that 10 new cases of coronavirus were recorded.
The statement said that 9 cases were recorded in Sulaymaniyah governorate, 4 women aged 53, 52, 29, 24 years old, and 4 men aged 53, 36, 34, 30 years, and a 15-year-old girl, and all cases live in the city of Sulaymaniyah and 8 of them had contact with former cases.
The other case was recorded in Erbil governorate, who is a 44-year-old man who lives in the city of Erbil.
The statement pointed to the total number of examinations that have been conducted for suspected cases in the Kurdistan Region since the emergence of the coronavirus and until now has reached 62,272 examinations.
So far, the total recorded cases of infection with coronavirus in the Kurdistan Region has reached 424 cases, including 5 deaths and 383 cases of recovery, while the remaining cases are 36 who are subject to medical care.
