     Earthquake hits Khanaqin district

An earthquake, on Monday evening, struck the city of Khanaqin, while there were no human casualties or material damage.


Weather forecast and seismic monitoring, said in a statement which, PUKmedia obtained a copy of it: "An earthquake occurred at 8:24 local time the city of Khanaqin, and the tremor had reached 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale."


"The earthquake occurred in Kailan, which is (30) kilometers away from southeast of Khanaqin district, indicated that it was felt by the citizens," the statement added.
