Iraq retrieves smuggled antiquities and valuables from Turkey

Smuggled antiques and precious artifacts from Turkey arrived in Iraq on Monday evening.

 

The Iraqi ambassador in Ankara, Hassan al-Janabi, confirmed in a post on his Facebook page, "The landing of the Iraqi air force plane this evening in Baghdad airport, loaded with Iraqi antiques and precious artifacts that we recovered in cooperation with the Turkish side."

 

"Despite the difficulties our country is facing, we must stick to hope and work hard to raise the issue of Iraq and ensure the unity, sovereignty and freedom of its people," he added.
