Kosrat Rasul praises France's support for the Peshmerga and the people of Kurdistan

Kosrat Rasoul Ali, Deputy Secretary General of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received on Monday 19/8/2019 Dominique Mas, French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.


The meeting came on the occasion of the end of the tasks of the French consul in the region, where Kosrat Rasul thanked France during the meeting for its positive role in the development and expansion of relations between the Kurdistan region and France. He also thanked the government and people of France that has always been a supporter of the Kurds since the era of Mrs. Danielle Mitterrand until now.


The PUK Deputy General Secretary also thanked in particular, the former French President who visited the Kurdistan Region during the war against ISIS and stressed France's support for the Peshmerga forces and the people of the Kurdistan Region.


For his part, the French Consul thanked Kosrat Rasoul for good relations and coordination during the previous period, hoping that there will be the same coordination with the next consul in the Kurdistan region.


During the meeting, they also discussed the situation in the Kurdistan region and the relations between the political parties and the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad, and the two sides agreed that dialogue and understanding should be a common basis for work in order to provide more services and achieve stable conditions and that understanding is the appropriate platform to provide support and develop the reform process in the system of government.
